Chiropractic

Chiropractic physicians provide healthcare that focuses on disorders of the nervous system and musculoskeletal system. A chiropractor is a health care professional focused on the diagnosis and treatment of neuromuscular disorders with an emphasis on treatment through manual adjustment and manipulation of the spine.

Doctors of chiropractic medicine practice a hands-on, drug-free approach to healthcare that includes diagnosis, patient education and treatment for many health problems.

Chiropractors have broad diagnostic skills in addition to their expertise in spinal manipulation and adjustments and are also very well-trained in recommending therapeutic rehabilitation exercises as well as nutritional, dietary and lifestyle counseling.

What is a chiropractic adjusment / manipulation?

Chiropractic adjustment is a highly skilled procedure performed by chiropractors. Chiropractic physicians will manipulate joints of the body, particularly the spine, in order to enhance and restore joint function and reduce nerve irritation. The goal is to reduce pain and inflammation and to restore normal joint function as well as increase range of motion. It is a highly controlled procedure that is usually pain-free. It is always adapted to specific needs of the individual patient and often produces immediate relief following treatment.

A significant portion of the education is hands-on clinical training. Doctors graduate with a Doctor of Chiropractic degree, D.C. from an accredited Chiropractic College which is accepted in all 50 states.
